RUMBLE Brings Face-to-Face DJ Performances and Interactive Crowd Technology to ADE 2026

Amsterdam Dance Event will welcome a new face-to-face DJ concept this October as RUMBLE prepares to make its debut at The Butcher Social Club in Amsterdam-Noord on Thursday, October 22. Bringing together live musical exchanges, audience interaction and technology designed to measure crowd energy, the concept places the dancefloor at the centre of the experience.

Built around two DJs performing opposite each other in a boxing ring-inspired setting, RUMBLE introduces a format based on musical spontaneity and direct interaction. Artists trade tracks without using sync, responding to each other’s selections while the audience becomes an active participant in the performance.

At the heart of the concept is proprietary technology that measures audience reactions in real time, capturing everything from cheers and movement to raised hands and collective energy. These responses are then incorporated into the production, allowing the atmosphere inside the venue to influence how the show unfolds.

The concept draws inspiration from a memorable moment in dance music history: Fatboy Slim and Armand Van Helden’s 1999 back-to-back performance inside a boxing ring. More than two decades later, RUMBLE revisits that playful sense of musical exchange through an interactive format designed for contemporary club culture.

TWO FACE-TO-FACE PERFORMANCES, FOUR DJS

For its inaugural edition, RUMBLE has assembled four artists representing different corners of electronic music.

UK house producer Deeper Purpose and Jack Orley will open the evening with the first face-to-face performance, setting the tone for a night built around spontaneous selections and musical interaction. Belgian DJ and producer Amber Broos will then join VE/RA for the headline performance, bringing the event to its conclusion.

Broadcaster and DJ Snoochie will host the evening, guiding the audience through both performances.

The format encourages spontaneous musical exchanges, with each artist responding directly to their counterpart rather than following a predetermined set structure. Combined with the audience-responsive technology, the experience is designed to evolve according to the energy inside the room.

“We wanted to build a night where the crowd isn’t just watching, it’s centre stage, actively driving the show,” explains RUMBLE founder Iain Hagger. “Our tech reads the room live, so every jump, hands-in-the-air moment and cheer changes the show. Nobody’s ever done this before, and we couldn’t think of a better place to debut it than ADE.”

The event arrives at a time when electronic music performances are increasingly exploring the relationship between artists, audiences and technology. While audience participation has always been fundamental to club culture, RUMBLE attempts to make that relationship more immediate and visible, turning the crowd’s collective response into part of the performance itself.

RUMBLE’s ADE debut will take place on October 22 from 19:00 to 23:00 at The Butcher Social Club, located next to A’DAM Tower in Amsterdam-Noord.
