Kaskade and Crankdat unite on first collaborative single, “A Little Bit”
Kaskade is continuing to expand the world around his forthcoming album ORIGIN // with an unexpected new collaboration. The eight-time GRAMMY-nominated producer has joined forces with bass heavyweight Crankdat for the first time on “A Little Bit”, arriving on July 10.
The track follows its live premiere during Kaskade’s return to Coachella earlier this year, where the producer made his first solo appearance at the festival in more than a decade. Built around the unveiling of the ORIGIN // project, the performance introduced a new live concept while previewing a series of unreleased productions. Midway through the set, Crankdat appeared onstage to debut “A Little Bit”, giving festival audiences an early taste of the collaboration.
Rather than leaning entirely toward either artist’s established sound, the record finds a meeting point between Kaskade’s melodic, cinematic approach and Crankdat’s bass-focused intensity. The result is a production that shifts comfortably between expansive festival melodies and heavyweight drops without losing the character of either producer.
For Kaskade, the release marks another step in the rollout of ORIGIN //, following his recent single with German producer BUNT., “Comes Back Around”. Together, the collaborations suggest an album built around creative partnerships that draw from different corners of contemporary electronic music while continuing the evolution of his long-running catalogue.
The collaboration also arrives during a landmark period for Crankdat. Over the past year, the Ohio-born producer has continued to strengthen his position within North America’s bass music scene through major festival appearances, headline performances and a growing catalogue of high-impact releases. Sharing a record with one of dance music’s most enduring figures reflects both his expanding reach and his willingness to move beyond genre expectations.
Following months of anticipation after its Coachella debut, “A Little Bit” finally receives its official release on July 10 across all major streaming platforms, bringing together two artists whose careers have developed along very different paths but briefly intersect on one of the summer’s most anticipated electronic releases.
