Bootshaus and Nibirii make CSD Cologne debut with “Home For Everyone” float

For the first time, Bootshaus and Nibirii Festival joined Cologne’s Christopher Street Day parade, bringing the city’s electronic music community directly into one of Europe’s largest celebrations of LGBTQIA+ visibility and equality.

Taking to the streets on July 5 with their own float, the two Cologne institutions invited Brandon, Kuko, A.N.I., Johannes Schuster and Sandile to soundtrack the procession under the banner “Home For Everyone, Together for safer spaces in Dance Culture.”

The debut marked more than a new appearance on the city’s annual parade route. It reflected an ongoing conversation across club culture about the responsibility of venues, festivals and promoters to create spaces where diversity is actively protected rather than simply celebrated.

Around 60,000 participants joined this year’s demonstration across approximately 250 walking groups and close to 100 floats, while more than one million people lined the streets throughout the day. According to Cologne Pride, over 1.5 million visitors took part in CSD celebrations across the weekend, reinforcing the event’s status as one of Europe’s largest Pride gatherings.

One of the defining moments came as the parade reached Neumarkt, where Cologne favourite Kuko transformed the city centre into an open-air dancefloor. The energy extended well beyond the float, with crowds dancing alongside the procession as it moved through the heart of the city.

For Bootshaus and Nibirii, the appearance represented a public commitment to values that have become increasingly central to contemporary nightlife. As conversations around inclusion, representation and safer club environments continue to shape electronic music worldwide, the decision to take part in CSD placed both brands within a broader movement connecting dancefloors with community, visibility and collective responsibility.
