Audio Paak is stepping into a new phase with “Dallas Dance”, moving from his Afrobeats roots into a deeper Afro House sound. The track blends African percussion, hypnotic synths, and emotional vocals to create something that feels both made for the dancefloor and more personal.

Inspired by his journey from Ghana to the UK, this release reflects his identity and his desire to explore a more authentic and expressive sound.

You’ve just released “Dallas Dance.” What does this track represent in your career?

This release marks a very important point of evolution for me. It’s the beginning of a new stage where I dive deeper into Afro House, exploring sounds that are more cultural and connected to my roots. It’s a way to express who I am now as an artist.

You come from a strong Afrobeats background. What led you to make this leap into Afro House?

I’ve always been curious about exploring different sounds. Afrobeats has been fundamental to my musical identity, but Afro House allows me to delve deeper into the ancestral, the emotional, and the sonic narrative. I felt it was the right time to evolve.

Your journey spans from Ghana to the United Kingdom. How has this influenced your music?

A lot. That cultural mix has been key to my development. My early experiences as a live DJ taught me how to understand the dance floor and tell stories through sound. All of that is still present in my music today.

You’re part of the House Mates collective. What role has it played in your artistic growth?

It’s been a very important part. Being a founding member allowed me to collaborate, experiment, and grow alongside other artists with a similar vision. But now I’m also focused on defining my own sound.

Let’s talk about “Dallas Dance.” How would you describe its sound?

It’s a sonic journey. It has a very strong rhythmic base with African percussion, enveloping synthesizers, and a hypnotic energy. It also features vocals with ethnic tones that add depth and a special emotional connection.

The track has a spiritual vibe. Was that intentional?

Yes, totally. I wanted the music to convey something beyond just dancing. There’s an intention to connect with the ancestral, identity, and emotion. It’s both a physical and a spiritual experience.

What are you trying to convey with this new musical direction?

For me, music is a language. I want to express authenticity, innovation, and cultural connection. I’m exploring new dimensions within my art, and I want people to feel that.

What can we expect from you in the future?

To keep evolving. I’m in a very creative moment and I want to continue pushing boundaries, experimenting, and taking my sound to new spaces within electronic music.

To close, what would you say to those who haven’t heard “Dallas Dance” yet?

Listen with an open mind and feel it. It’s designed for both the body and the soul.
