Amémé presents: one tribe announces inaugural Ibiza residency at cova santa

AMÉMÉ leads five-night summer series from 30 July through 27 August 2025

Ibiza’s cultural pulse gains a new rhythm this summer as One Tribe, the global collective founded by West African afro-house visionary AMÉMÉ, launches its first-ever Ibiza residency at Cova Santa. The five-date series will run on 30 July, 6 August, 13 August, 20 August, and 27 August 2025, marking the collective’s most significant European chapter to date.

“One Tribe is more than just a name, it’s a community. This summer, Cova Santa becomes our new home for a special five-night residency on the island. Joined by artists we love from around the world, each night brings the energy, passion and creativity that has become synonymous with the name.”

Set against the dramatic hillside backdrop of Ibiza, Cova Santa has long been regarded as one of the island’s most visually distinctive venues, blending open-air terrace energy with its iconic cave setting. Known for hosting forward-thinking, culture-driven programming, the venue provides a natural home for One Tribe’s immersive community ethos.

Each of the five residency dates will see AMÉMÉ headline alongside a rotating cast of artists from within the One Tribe orbit. Lineups will be announced in the coming weeks.

Past One Tribe events have featured Bontan, LP Giobbi, Honeyluv, enoo napa, NenaHalena, ARKADYAN, Nhii, Lazarusman, Kitty Amor, Philou Louzolo, Baron (FR), Colle, Niiomi, William Djko, Floyd Lavine, and Pablo Fierro. The collective continues to bridge emerging afro-house talent with established global names, shaping an ecosystem rather than a moment.

One Tribe: From Brooklyn to Ibiza

Founded in Brooklyn in 2017 by Hubert Sodogandji, known professionally as AMÉMÉ, One Tribe began as a curated event series built around a simple premise: community through afro-house. It quickly found momentum at House of Yes in Bushwick, becoming a cornerstone of New York’s underground electronic circuit.

In 2020, the project expanded into One Tribe Records, a boutique imprint championing AMÉMÉ’s signature sound while platforming a new generation of producers. The label ranked #15 on Beatport’s afro-house chart in 2023, drawing support from Black Coffee, CamelPhat, Hugel, BLOND:ISH, Marco Carola, and THEMBA.

Following a 2024 relaunch that included a date at fabric London and a quarterly residency at Shelter Amsterdam, the collective returned to Ibiza with one-off showcases at Cova Santa, building toward what now becomes its first full residential chapter on the island.

Its 2025 VA compilation CIRCLES continues to expand the label’s sonic palette across afro-house, organic house, and downtempo electronics.

Born in Benin, shaped by Berlin, and rooted in Brooklyn, AMÉMÉ has become one of afro-house’s most globally resonant figures. His sets blend tribal percussion, deep house textures, and hypnotic groove, reflecting both heritage and movement across continents.

His trajectory includes performances at Coachella, Tomorrowland, Burning Man, EDC, Awakenings, Creamfields, Paradise, Saga, All Day I Dream, and Rumours Ibiza. In 2025, he returned to Coachella for a second performance and headlined Boiler Room Lagos.

His catalog spans Armada Music, Insomniac Records, Black Book Records, Realm Records, Crosstown Rebels, Defected’s One People imprint, Cercle, and Abracadabra. Among his most celebrated projects is a reimagining of Angelique Kidjo’s iconic “Agolo,” a cross-generational collaboration that underscores his connection to West African musical heritage.

VICE documented his story in Beats of Benin, while Mixmag Netherlands featured him on its Amsterdam Dance Event 2025 cover, reinforcing his position at the center of afro-house’s expanding global narrative.
