Above & Beyond Announce ‘Anjuna:Chilled 01’, Reimagining Label Classics In Ambient And Downtempo Form

Tapestry-makers of modern electronic music Above & Beyond step into that quiet space with ‘Anjuna:Chilled 01’, the inaugural chapter of a compilation series designed to strip away the club pressure and reimagine classics from across Anjuna’s 25-year catalog. The 16-track collection drops December 3 via their dedicated imprint, Anjunachill.
The record moves across generations of label history, featuring contributions from key figures such as OceanLab, Jaytech, Luminary, Smith & Pledger, Andrew Bayer, Dusky, Jody Wisternoff, and PROFF. Above & Beyond themselves deliver six brand-new reworks, centered around a stunning downtempo mix of ‘Sun & Moon’ featuring Richard Bedford. The new arrangement brings Bedford’s iconic vocal performance into sharp focus while restoring an unreleased second verse originally kept for their acoustic orchestral shows.
Available digitally and as a limited-edition 2x12" gatefold transparent vinyl, the project underscores Anjunachill’s role as the home for ambient, neo-classical, and downtempo soundscapes within the label family. Led by the September 14 release of ‘Sun & Moon (Downtempo Version)’, the rollout continues with key singles throughout October and November—including revisits to OceanLab's 'Sky Falls Down', Jaytech's 'Atlantic', and Luminary's 'Amsterdam'—inviting listeners to fall back in love with familiar melodies from an entirely new perspective before the focus track 'White' by Smith & Pledger anchors the full compilation release on December 3.
